‘Willow Bough’ Etching Prints

For my first attempt at etching I chose to recreate, Grayson Perry’s recreation of Williams Morris’s wallpaper ‘Willow Bough’.

Close up of plate covered in the wax ground, part way through the ‘designing’ process:img_7804

Finished design, before it had been put into the acid to be etched:img_7813

Plate after the acid, with the ground removed and filled with ink, ready to be printed:img_7814

Final two prints done with the same one application of ink. Therefore, the second is fainter.IMG_7847.jpgIMG_7849.jpg

For a first attempt I am pleased with how my prints tuned out, however I would like to create a more detailed/accurate plate and print.
